When you’re house hunting, it may be hard to envision the home the way you would want it. Seeing someone else’s furniture and décor, and even paint color, can make it almost impossible to imagine living in the home and making it your own. The process of designing your interior, whether you plan to knock down walls or just decorate with wall art, is overwhelming to say the least. To give you an idea of how a house becomes a home, we spoke with Linda Ashley of Linda Ashley Interior Decoration, Inc., who recently updated a historic home to meet the homeowner’s aesthetic.
There was a converted bar area at the end of the kitchen. Linda tore down a structural wall, raised the ceiling and incorporated that small extra space into a larger, more functional kitchen. A glass back door was added to brighten up this space.
Added a new vanity, a new shower, and an added tower (for storage) next to vanity. Used glass and marble mosaic to give depth and made the bathroom look like a larger space.
